Welcome to Little Essence 🌱

For a long time, this space has been about wellness for everyday life the small, honest tools that help you feel a little more grounded. Today I’m opening up a new chapter of that same idea: I’m pregnant again after years of thinking that season of my life was behind me.

On July 2nd, I found out I was pregnant. Four weeks along, and already my world had quietly shifted.

I’ll be honest with you: this wasn’t the reaction I expected from myself. I’m a mom of two already my oldest is 13, my youngest is 10 and I thought I knew what this road looked like. But being pregnant again after years like this feels different in ways I’m still working through. New questions, new fears, new version of myself to figure out.

My first scan came on July 15th, and if I’m being completely honest, it was scary. I didn’t know what to expect walking in, and even now sitting at 7 weeks and a few days that nervous feeling hasn’t fully faded. It shows up in small ways, like catching myself checking every single time I use the restroom, half-bracing for something to be wrong. I don’t think anyone really prepares you for how much of early pregnancy is quiet worry mixed with quiet hope.

A few weeks in, I also had a scare with a UTI. Given how I try to live leaning toward natural, gentle approaches whenever I can my instinct was to try to handle it that way first. But it didn’t take long to learn that a UTI during pregnancy isn’t something to take lightly or manage on your own; it’s the kind of thing that needs a doctor’s eyes on it, plain and simple. It was a humbling reminder that “natural first” doesn’t always mean “natural only” sometimes the most grounded thing you can do is listen to your body and your provider, especially now.

That’s really what Little Essence is going to be: not a highlight reel, not a perfectly curated pregnancy journey, but the real version the nerves, the learning curve, the products and rituals that actually help, and the moments where I get it wrong and figure it out as I go. Same honest approach you’ve always found here, just pointed at this new season.

If you’re walking a similar road whether it’s your first baby or, like me, a whole new beginning after years of thinking you were past this stage I’m glad to have you here.

More soon. One day, one appointment, one deep breath at a time. 🤍
